Hey all! I'm Zack, and this is my first rx-7, and my second car, first being a '95 Civic. This beast out-performs and handles better every time.
It's an '88 RX-7 GTU, with 180-odd thousand miles. The original owner kept it 100% stock, and took exceptional care of it.
The necessary three fixes for it:
-2 new tires (used to have a bad alignment)
-a new antenna (was taken off in a car wash)
-a new driver's floormat (which you see in the first pic as replaced by a Honda Odyssey spare)
Tell me what you think!!
PS: I think that I've settled on a name, but tell me if it's too cliche! --Savanna-- (the market name for the 2nd gen rx-7 in some other markets.)
(Sorry for the linked pics, and please, take the time to look! I still need to figure out this site...)

Also, as a quick first question, what does it signify if your engine sometimes needs help starting by putting a little throttle with the start? Like it will crank, but the engine doesn't want to pick up? Everything else works and the engine pulls very well, though I haven't driven many others.
This will be an autocross car, though I'm keeping it clean and stock as long as I can, and always stock-looking.

Thanks for the welcome! And the name is a rather interesting story (though probably not to you)... I named my first car Molasses, which is the civic that you may see in that link and my username, so I thought that it would be funny to name my second car Nutmeg...However. I wasn't aware I was getting a classic two-seater sports car that may get angry if I were to call her "Nutmeg". So I didn't
The same goes for a subwoofer system that I had in my Civic. I was going to transfer it, but I realized how disrespectful that would be to this beauty... So I didn't.
Also, I'll be getting a comp check asap, so I'll let you guys in on the results.
Peace!!

Haha... Mine certainly isn't turbo, but I'm not about to let that get me down. Besides, one of my goals is (in a few years) to make mine turbo, and I know there are tons of writeups for it... My first goal is pristine, clean, well-tuned car.
Yesterday I found out that my car is getting horrible gas mileage (around 13mpg), and I've now narrowed it down to an unbelievably rich mixture. Even when warm, you can smell that unburnt fuel, so I'm going to tune her up in a couple days.
