Hopping from Mx-to-Rx/ Gerald in Melbourne Fl

Well,

I just sold my Flyin' Miata Turbo Charged 99 Miata to fund my search of a 93 Rx7 either montego blue or brilliant black.

The Miata put out 259 hp on 14psi and mixed gasoline/e85 with 257lbs of torque to the wheel.
Being that they are 115 to the wheel, it was a massive gain. I was going to build the motor to handle close to 400 hp at the wheels being 2300lbs but I decided to save that build money and sell the car to purchase this lovely and beautiful RX.

Here she is. One owner with every document of the Montego Blue's history. He has owned it for 21 years and it is in great shape. [Extremely minor things here and there that couldn't hurt the sale]

Was purchased in Bay City, Michigan. Yes, I checked for rust. Non. This was a garage queen and was well maintained as I glanced over many receipts rubberbanded together. Its been in Florida for over 10 years now and worked on by Lowes Automotive in Sarasota who specializes in Rotaries and Rx7s.

Without Further Adieu,

So the rebuild was due to overheating. The radiator tank split causing engine damage. The found coolant leaking from between the housings and melted the rotor housing and damaged the rotors.

So It looks like with the detailed parts list that is brand new almost one year into the rebuild

2 rotors and housings
2mm apex seal for a 13b
12 Corner Seal
4 Side Seal
2 Main Bearing
Water Temp Sensor
Engine Gasket Kit
Hose Connector RX7
Thermostat 3rd Gen
H2O Hose TB Pipe RX& 90 DEG
Hose Rear Eng TB 93-96 RX7
H2O Hose W/P Int tube
2 Spark Plugs
2 Spark Plugs BUR9EQP ?
Thrust
Spacer Rotary
Pilot Seal
Used Turbo control Solenoid
Antifreeze coolant
Oil Filter
Vacuum Check Valve

Koyo radiator modifyied brackets
Lower radiator hose

Replace shifter bushings

Going through the receipts the coolant was constantly monitored over the years going back to 2005. This makes me cautious on the 3rd gen in general but since they replaced the radiator and all hoses, it might have remedied the problem a bit.

There was alot of ac work done to the car as well. I can tell you i get cold with it on for periods of time.

Yeah it wasn't my official wtb thread. I was explaining that the interior has a few flaws and what I plan on getting in the future. Thank your for the edit...

Welcome! I also went from a boosted MX to RX, except I had a boosted KL MX-6, was on the edge of building the motor for high boost but I returned it back to NA and kept it as my daily instead.

the car was professional washed, claybar, wetsanded, waxed, and finally sealed yesterday.

These are a couple shots of it in the driveway which is lame but here you go...

so while i was doing the fluid change i found out that the car has a megan racing downpipe to reduce the heat soak caused by the oem catalytic converter. I also found out that the differential fluid was changed at the same time as the transmission gear oil was performed. I went through the records and confirmed.

Turned out beautifully, and now it's in sunny Florida where it won't turn into a rust bucket hopefully! I'll look for it when I'm in town.

I was in st. cloud and kissimmee earlier today with a buddy of mine with an rx8. We introduced ourselves with the owner of kilo racing. I will be getting maintenance performed by them. We then stopped by my buddy's warehouse of miata's to show the new car and chit chat.

Ill be going to the meet this weekend and hope to meet those of you close by to chat and learn new things.
