CO Hi there, just looking around for one!

Hi there folks,
I just recently have fallen in love with the RX-7 FCs, and I'm currently in the process of learning as much as I can about them until I talk to whoever owns this silver FC I saw in a field recently. I thought I'd go ahead and say hi since I'll be snooping around, and any suggestions on helpful links I can absorb information from would be appreciated! here's a little snap I got of the car, I honestly know nothing else about it. Came across it on an adventure and just knew what it was from that rear window! I really want to find one to start from scratch with and this one looked like it could be a good start! Thanks for reading!

Welcome!! There are a ton of useful guides in the 2nd Gen Tech Section and a ton of sluseful information to help educate you before you buy the car!

The car appears to be a base model as indicated by the four lug hubs. If the fender decal reads SE, this indicates the car is a 1988 SE model. The SE could be had with a sunroof as well as A/C. Look the car over well and check for rust under the car on the rocker panels and pinch welds. These commonly fail when an FC has been sitting. Either way, keep us updated on what transpires!

thanks y'all! good to know about the rust. I have had a few old rides like this in the past and I've learned to avoid rust like the plague. Hopefully since it's a high desert car it'll look alright underneath, but no 30 year old steel is guaranteed safe!
I appreciate you sharing what you see in the photo that I hadn't seen yet. I can't wait to go back and give the car a good look over next month!
