Hi from New Zealand! Sold my S14, now back to a RX7! Lots of PICS

HI Guys,

My names David and live in New Zealand. 1st proper post/thread other than the "read" off the other threads. Well anyways, I have always loved the FD3S RX7 and finally got myself one mid-late last year. It was so cheap i could not pass it up.... but having 3 cars was too much for me, and well my S14 was for sale (for about 4 months by this stage) and despite the reasonably cheap price, just would not sell! So had no choice but to also put up the 7 for sale.... and it sold in like 1 week! Made about $3K profit from what i paid for which wasnt too bad i guess!

Finally after almost a year of it being up for sale, the my S14 finally sold! Still loved the car to bits, but owning it for 7 years, it was time for a change on my daily ride. (R34 GTR stays in the garage and only let out on nice sunny days :P ) So i went back to an RX7

Totally stock, with 86,000km on the clock and rebuild at 70,000km and super cheap as well! Slowly will start tinkering with this.

Here are some pics of my OLD RX7 that i only had for 1 month... And my new RX7 pics will be posted 2moro! I thought burgandy red was factory color... looks like it was resprayed in a non-factory color... anyways pics to follow tomorrow!

QUESTION! - But until then, does anyone know what those side skirts that everyone on these forums (im guessing mostly US/Canada owners) are putting on. Sorry about being vague, but its like 80% of owners have them! They are very subtle, small sideskirts, which just acts as an extention to the car. I have never seen them here in NZ ever... But i quite like the subtle look they create.

Thanks for the comments!

Well finally took a chance to take some pics of my new rx7. I thought this color was factory from Mazda, but looks like it was re-sprayed at some point and did notice that the engine bay alone hasnt been painted and was the original red. Comparing to my first RX7... cant believe how much the version 8 front bumper makes a difference! It makes it look so much better in V8 form...

Totally stock, doesnt even have an exhuast! 1st on the cards, coilover suspension to lower it...

Wow a R34 Skyline and an RX7. Sounds like a dream car Garage. Wish I had the skyline though. How is the FD3S? I have an FC3C. I love my car too..lol. The R34 GTR Skyline ZTune is my favorite of the Skylines.

Cheers, but i guess the R34 is quite hard to register legally for road use in the US?

Thanks acemueller. Ztune is the ultimate for sure, but with only 20 made and being expensive, for cheaper $$ u could easily make it look like one with all the genuine parts and have just as much if not more power as the Ztune!

Yeah the FD is great, and from hearing what the prices were when new, in the UK, its lucky that we can enjoy these cars at a fraction of their original costs. But it definitly has some "cheap" feel to it compared to the GTR. Everything from the way the door shuts to every aspect of the interior and parts used throughout the GTR certainly feels its a class above.

but really looking foward to modifying the FD slowly bit by bit!
