Hi from Miami, FL!

Name's Carlos,
Many moons ago I owned an 85 RX7 12A carbed. It was completely stock from the air intake to the wheels and it was a crap load of fun to drive even though it only had about 100hp. I've had many cars since then but I never forgot how awesomely fun the 7 was.

Fast forward about 15 years to now...
I wanted to get into outocrossing and wanted something that drove similar to the old 7 but I also wanted something that I and my mechanic knew how to work on. The closest thing I drove to the old 7 was a 1st gen Miata (I know, I know, girl car , blah blah blah lol.)

Couple of pics of the Miata from when I got it to now. Roll bar (real SCCA approved roll bar, not style bar) is in the garage waiting to be installed.

I'm here because, as you all know, 7s have sort of a reputation for being unreliable and stuff. I know that most of that comes from owners not knowing how to care for them correctly. So I'm looking to educate myself as much as possible before picking up an FD.
My wife got hooked on outoxing and I would like to pick up a second car for us, and I sure wouldn't mind if it was an FD.

Shooting for the stars! Man, I love it! I think you've nailed it right on the money regarding the perceived unreliability of these rotary cars. There are a lot of 170,000+ miles 1stgens on the road only because the owners took care of them. You can blow any engine if you ask too much of it. Kinda sad you don't want to give another 1stgen rex a try but I can fully understand why.

Thanks for taking the time to register and welcome aboard to RX-7 Club! Here's hoping you can convince yer wiffey that y'all just have to have an FD track and street car!!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

BTW, I just noticed when I read your reply that I made a typo...
I meant to type that I was looking to get and "FC", not "FD" lol.

FDs are a bit too expensive for my cheap taste lol.
