Hi, from Indianapolis IN

I have an 88 fc s4 that I have been using as my daily for over a year now and am looking for other rx7s to cruise with.

Where are my brothers and sisters at?

Welcome to the forum!! Would love to see pictures of the car! Do you know any of the car's history?

You'll want to browse the regional forums if you're looking for other RX-7 owners that are local. Its a pretty broad region but there are events and such out our way in the region. I'll be hosing a meet at my place later this summer and I'll post the details in the regional section.

she’s got her problems though. She’sa dieing automatic. I’m going to attempt a manual swap next summer… the overdrive doesn’t work so I only have 3 gears… but I’ve still managed to get her to 120mph at about 6800 rpm :P

Welcome to the club. I was in Indy till a few months ago. There are generally two ways to do an auto to manual conversion. The "correct" way is to retrofit the transmission crossmember mounting ears from a donor car onto yours. Kind of a pain in the butt since it requires either welding or bolting them in place, so carpet removal is needed to prevent damaging it. The "easy" way is to make two identical adapter brackets from flat steel. Basically, it's a bracket that "steps up" toward the rear, so the crossmember is at the correct height. It will look roughly like the attached Lego example, the yellow piece being towards the rear of the car and the gray one being bolted to the original automatic trans mounting ears:

This is the idea that was used to create the adapter crossmember that Xcessive offers here:

As for wiring, Series 4 is pretty straightforward. Bypass the Inhibitor Switch, skip the clutch switch and connect the Reverse Lights. The Inhibitor Switch is pretty easy, you'd just be fooling the car into thinking it is in Park/Neutral at all times.

Such a beautiful colour for an RX7.

Just to give you a heads up .. I think you might have a couple of your wheels on the wrong corner.

Sport/GXL and Turbo style wheels are directional. They are stamped L or R between a set of spokes to denote Left or Right side of the vehicle.

The Front Right (passenger side) and Rear Left (driver side) appear to be correct. The Front Left (driver side) and Right Rear (passenger side) should be swapped.
