Hi everyone. joined in hopes of learning more 1st gen :)
hey guys!
My Name is Stan!!
I purchased a 1st gen 1979 RX7 with a bad engine and parked it next to my "off the road" BMW 740iL in my driveway. After finding out how much it was going to cost me bang for buck in the power department I looked back out my house window and decided Im stealing the 740 driveline and using that in my little orange RX7. I spent a lot of sleepless nights and lots of electricity from my plasma cutters and welders to get it to drive out by itself. Was worth it. I ended up patenting a new transmission control system in this car! Fell in love with it. Fun to drive and a head turning 2 seater for sure. I learned some interior and gauge designs with, yes Im saying it, a sewing machine and again my plasma cutter lol. I finished it up to where it is now and want to do it all over again. Would love to keep every one on the road and out of a boneyard if I could. Thank you for reading and hope you like my ride and hit me up if you have any good ideas for good suspension systems or companies for the first gens. I havent seen many options I liked and was considering using something again from another car. Hit me up! I am owner and operator of getawaycarz.com..that is what I call my little out of the way DIY garage!... hit me up!
