Hi Cary from the UK
Hi Cary from the Uk, here near Hull. If you aint heard of it don't worry its in Yorkshire.
Picked up an Efini RX7 which has just had a full engine rebuild, full Bridgeport and single Holset Turbo at cost of £6k. Didn't know what to expect as I have been a Skyline, Mitsubishi, guy in the past.
Drove it 250 miles home, thought the Skyline was thirsty at 19mpg, this needed its own fuel truck to follow it. Soon realised not quite running right, back pillowballs gone. turbo oil feed leak (interesting one), and far too low.
Don't think it had been mapped properly with the PFC as it idled at about 2k and had nothing below 3k. All the bits seem there but it aint been put together to the standard that I would aim for.
So rebuilt the rear suspension, all good, but had the battery off for about 5 weeks. When I came to start it all the mappings had dropped from the PFC, something I didn't expect as its non volatile memory, or should be.
Now off down the road of discovery in respect of mapping.
Must say having looked at a few different RX7 sites this is by far the best informed.
No one said it would be easy, especially the wife, but I like a challenge. Not the car the wife!
So thats my story so far. Thanks for reading if you got this far.
