Hi all! Finally got my first RX7!
Hi there!
My Name is Amaury!
I Finally got a hold of a car that I wanted since I was younger:
1993/FD RX-7! She's a roller - and I get an opportunity to bring it back to life. I've always been wrenching on my cars, and learning as much as possible in the process. Its my favorite hobby and passion - keeps me busy and out of trouble lol. Now, I get something fun to play with and challenge myself with in the process.
I've been lurking for a while, absorbing what I can find - and there's plenty so far, and much more available. Anyhow, just wanted to (finally) make my first post and say hello to everybody on here!
Good day all (or night), thanks for sharing the knowledge!

Just wanted to share some pics, first one is as I picked her up and brought her back home.
Went nuts through the car and cleaned everything out. Already fixed a few things with the car: installed metal door handles, master window switch and glovebox latch.
I've already gotten to the engine bay - now just have to get the drivetrain pieced together whenever I can make it happen.
For the next few rainy days I'll be going through the wiring harnesses and finishing my water temp linearization mod.

Thanks! I almost forgot to post pics so I tried to ninja-add em lol. Definitely loving the knowledge on here, and the community as well! I'm gonna love bringing this one back to life, for me - she's a keeper!

Thanks! So far I've been slowly (but surely) fixing small things and getting parts I need to get the car going (mounts, PPF, driveshaft, etc..). Last bit will be the drivetrain itself, it's like I'm building my favorite 1:1 model kit lol.

Honestly, this would be my first rotary that I've personally owned/worked on. Applying what I've learned from wrenching on all my previous cars while learning as much as possible and putting it all into play - reminds me why I love wrenching!

The interior is tan - but complete and in good shape. I've already repaired the passenger interior handle - but eventually I'm going to get the aluminum replacement I seen on the forums (nice idea). I'll look at getting some non-bose speaker mounts (or fab up my own in my free time) to better mount the door speakers behind the grills. I've also fixed the internal latch in the glovebox - works and looks just like new. Also replaced the master window switch. Later on when I cross the bridge I'll look at converting it to all black.
Right now my main focus is on sourcing a drivetrain - only supporting mods will be reliability ones (ie: cooling, stiffer mounts/bracing, etc..) - as I get more familiar I'll dive in further, but for now I'm very happy - Currently I'm going through the wiring harnesses (front and engine) repairing and soldering a few connections, and some minor bodywork while I can. I've been studying the service manual (and the forums) before I got the FD so thats been very helpful with getting familiar with things.
