KY Hey There

Hey there. I've had this car for a bit now and am going to start tearing into it soon. I'm anxious to see if there is anything wrong with the internals. I guess that's where I should start. I've read a handful of threads and whatnot, and am not at a point that I have a lot of questions, but if anyone has any input cool. Or if you have any questions that's cool too. I'm hear to learn and share.

It's been sitting for about 4-5 years. It has a hair over 190k. Yea, it was a local guy's car about 16 years ago I'd say. The rumor was he rebuilt the engine in it, but back when I heard that I didn't even know what a rotary really was. He was a few years older than my brother, so his name wasn't uncommon to hear brought up. Well I would see it around town as a teenager and thought it was badass. I had a buddy that ended up with it (which is a story within itself that's fairly odd) and I actually taught him how to drive a stick in it. It was on the same road my brother had me drive when he was teaching me. He had the FC and I had an S13 with an SR and front end swap. So we would drive around together once he actually could. I sold the S13 and he kept the FC. I moved to CA for a bit and he got the idea to put a V8 in it. Well...pay someone else to put a V8 in it. So I couldn't really stop him because I was in CA at the time. "Mechanic" hacks and slashes the 13B out of it, and never put a V8 in it. I ended up moving back from CA and we went and pulled it out of the guys yard. We used a friends garage to TRY to put the 13B back in it. This is with very little research on rotaries. We spent the winter trying to put it back together and never could. I ended up buying it from him and keeping it at my moms for a bit. I needed some cash, and he bought it back. Well, he ended up dumping it off a few counties over in some field with a bunch of other random ****/cars. It sat there for probably 3-4 years. One day I got an itch and asked him if he thought it was still out there, and made him prove it by taking me to it haha. Once I new it was there we took a couple vehicles out there, one with a winch and one with a trailer. I pulled the FC onto a trailer and put it in my garage. It has been there for about a year now...

That's why I'm anxious to pull it apart and see what needs rebuilding. I want to make it as simple and clean as possible. I am somewhat on a budget so I think I'll have to be using what I have and making it work. I just don't have a lot of knowledge on these cars specifically. Mentally, I'm ready to start on it I just have to get my ducks in a row.I didn't proof ready any of this. Sorry if there are mistakes.
