hey new here

Hey well im new, duh, and i was kinda pondering the idea of getting into the rotary side. Ive never dealt with anything close to rotors but i have been around pistons for awhile, everything from a v8 to a i3(ya i owned a damn metro). Anyways i just totaled my latest project(girl tboned me) and was looking to get into this. Now my insurance is only giving me back 1000 for the car but i seen some rx7s for around 1500. Now my question is, and yes i will do research just hoping for a quick answer. Are these reliable dailys? and if i plan on going turbo what am i looking into provided i dont buy a t2 right off the back. also i heard rotarys arent the greatest for gas mileage or high mileage. anyways if anyone has some info that would be great and yes i will be reading all the faq and all that just had a late night and thought id ask.

I don't have as much experience as I've only had 3 rotaries (and building a car to make it 4). They have always been a little thirsty on gas, especially the turbos. I use to daily drive a FB with a 13b, single 48 IDA, and header and it was reliable. I believe also that once we get into changing injectors, turbo boost addiction, or listening to the motor wind up, you can watch the gas gauge go down.
