MI Hey all!

Hey all, I joined about two years when I started getting serious about buying an RX-7. The FD has been my attainable dream car since I first watched Tokyo Drift when I was 12. Currently I own an '86 FC as a project car and my daily is a 2019 Ranger. However, my garage status may change soon since I was just the highest bidder on BaT for a '94 FD, but reserve was not met. Wish me luck!

Welcome!! Does your FC currently run and drive? What are your plans for the car?

My FC runs and drives beautifully - I lucked out with it being super healthy (so far haha). I plan to restore it back to OEM+ state for the street and light track. I'm starting to replace all engine accessories that are cheap(ish)/easy to replace (master cylinders, drive belts, filters, etc), fluids, and other reliability mods. And then chassis upgrades (bushings, coilovers), DIY respray, and then finally engine stuff assuming the existing engine doesn't blow in the meantime haha.

Looks to be in great shape! Would love to see more pictures of the car as well. I think you have a solid plan laid out. If you maintain the car it should last for a long time.

Thank you! See attached the interior is actually in pretty decent shape considering its age.

Woe the interior really is in excellent shape! Looks like it had the acoustic equillibration sound system with CD player originally. I see the door speaker grills. Was a rare option to have.

Wow, didn't even know that. Thanks for sharing!

So yeah I was wondering about those door speakers...they seem to just be cloth over the speaker so I assumed that my car DIDN'T have the package and this was just Mazda's cheap way of not making it look terrible. Kinda like blank switches in a low trim car. But now I know! I'll see if they actually work...I don't tend to listen to music in my 7, the rotary sounds so good

I would really like to have that CD player system in mine, but the 9-band tape-deck is not too bad either.
If it had the CD-player and 6-speaker, wouldn't that make it an '87 GXL though? I think it was not available in '86 yet. Pretty nice interior, and nice car overall!

Man that audio system looks so good! One previous owner put in a JVC unit in mine and I hate it. Looks awful and out of place, doesn't work well, and super dated by today's standards lol. I'll be hunting for an original one sometime!
