HELP! SMOKE! and LOTS of it!!
So my first post is regarding my new (new to me) 1992 RX7 RHD which was freshly imported from Japan.
Upon it first arriving the very first thing I did prior to even driving was a coolant and oil flush and a new battery. From there it fired right up and was driving perfect without incidence........and then 3 days later.......SMOKE!
I was sitting at a traffic light waiting when I heard a ticking sound at idle, when I brought up the RPM's the sound would go away.....within about 4 miles of driving I started noticing SMOKE, THICK WHITE SMOKE which at the next traffic light completely enveloped both my car and everyone around me. The oil pressure remained fine, no heating or indicator lights whatsoever, and the car continued to drive otherwise normal. I continued driving to my destination for about another 4 miles where when I got there the smoke trail behind me was visible for a good half mile.
So here's the question........what did I do........the engine still starts and idles normally, but holy hell do I have thick white smoke.
I have been made aware it could have been one of the turbo's leaking oil into the intake? Or is it time for a new engine?
