Hello from N.E. Ohio
This RX7 sort of dropped into my lap. I was talking cars with another car guy and I mentioned that in the past I owned 2 early Mercury Cougars. I told him I had a '68 base model and a '69 XR7 and that I wanted another XR7. He said "I have an RX7 and I want to sell it" and in a moment of dyslexic confusion and a couple of months of going back and forth and negotiating here I'm with a car with no pistons.
That's by buddy Robbie in the car goofing off and no, he is not making an obscene gesture with his hand.
The car is bone stock right down to the radio and the plan is to keep it that way. It only runs with starting fluid being sprayed into the carb. so I have some research and work to do before I can drive it but I guess that's half the fun.
I admit to having an illness. I own an '89 Lincoln Town Car, a '92 Roadmaster wagon, a '98 Mark 8 LSC, and more Subarus than I can count. My name is Lee and I'm a caraholic.

I'm in Tallmadge, not really close to Vermilion but I am only about a mile from Summit Racing so if you're ever there for a car show or parts you'll practically be in my backyard.
I don't know a whole lot about the car. I do know it spent the last 10 years sitting on wheel dollies in an Akron warehouse. Before that it sat in a Canton warehouse. It was some deal where it was owned by a Canton company and a company in Akron bought them out. The car was part of the deal so it went along for the ride. It only has a little over 64K miles and I suspect that most of those were put on early in the cars life. Right now it's in a place I rent in Akron but it's coming home to Tallmadge as soon as I can clear out some space in the garage.
We unloaded it off of the trailer on one of those cold but sunny February days. I was lucky to get the picture I got but when I get it running and can drive it to the car shows I'll definitely take and post more pictures.

You're about an hour and 15 away. Not bad at all. I host two RX-7 meets at my place per year. We grill out, I'll open my shooting range, I give away parts and car stuff, we work on cars, I offer free compression tests etc. We usually have a good turnout as people come from all over the state and sometimes neighboring states. I can keep you updated on the meet dates if you'd like.

That sounds like a blast. Please keep me updated.
If I don't get it running in time I'll just have to be the odd man out in the Subaru.
