AZ Hello,just bought a 2nd gen,87.

Hello,my name is Josh and i just signed up a little while ago,but i cant see my welcome post.
I just bought a 2nd gen 87 na. Had to replace the fuel pump.Have it running, but nothing over 4 grand in drive gears.
Are there any members in the phoenix AZ area?

I am just finding work and am trying to finish my schooling at MMI.
Motorcycle Mechanics Institute.
Looking for anyone wanting to talk shop, grab a cool one, what ever.
Hope to meet more people with mechanical interests. Anyone into drifting?
Just went to the drift comp here.

Welcome, Josh!

It could be a problem with the secondary injectors not coming on or perhaps some other blockage in the fuel system (fuel filter, pickup in tank, etc.). I would start by measuring fuel pressure and volume at the line in the engine bay and then go from there.

Thats what i am checking now. I installed a new pump and filter.
It will run if i push start it,but wont start by cranking from the starter.
Once i push start it,and it is warm, then it will start from cranking no problem.
But,it wont go over 3500-4000.But i can drive it all around town with no problem.
So,i am checking fuel system to secondary's, maf sensor, boost sensor, ect.

I have a chiltons, and i download the original FSM from a link here in the forum.
Plus my dad is a mechanic, with a degree, and i was attending Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, until my job ended.
Thanks for the reply though, appreciate it.
Josh
