MD Hello! John from Baltimore here

I had an '83 GS that racked up a quick 100K before I let it go. I'll never forget the best ride I've had. I've been thinking of getting another 2-seater for a while and had tested driven a MX-5 a year or so ago. Fun for sure. I've also thought about the prospects of restoration and got engaged (last night) in a lengthy youtube video of a 13B being rebuilt by a couple of Aussies. I thought I can do that!.

But maybe not. So while I'm not a current owner, I joined forums to dig out information and for the obvious support the group can offer. I like the 1st generation styling but love the 3rd mostly. My perception is that 3rd gen is not so reliable... likely based on turbo charging issues. I hope that members with 3rd gen experience can educate me otherwise. I won't be racing though and turbocharging is not a high criteria for me.

Welcome John.
I think you would like the 2nd gen.(I am biased though as that is all I ever drove in these cars).
They are nice and sporty and the N/A's are pretty reliable if you get an S4.(S5 has that stupid electric OMP).
