AB Hello from Calgary

Hey guys im from Calgary AB and i just bought a 1990 infini rx-7
i've had it for about two months now but hadn't driven it till one day i did and hit turbo about four times and i was down shifting to second not reving it up to high when i heard a pop sound not extremly loud but noticeble and the car turned off
tried turning it back on but it struggled so i had to push it to the garage
now i try to start it but it doesn't even want to try all the electrical thing work perfectly fine so i don't know what is going on
if someone has an idea please let me know what i could do
please
let me know where i can start to check parts or something
really appreaciate

Do a search for 'compression check' and that may help you get going on figuring out whats going on.

How many k's on the car? And did you buy it from a dealer or private?

Sounds like you may have popped the motor. Do the compression check............I can help on the weekend.

Well Jerr11 i bought the car in private and the car has only 106000km on it
84stock : i would really appreciate if you can give me a hand on the weekends, because i have no idea how to do the tests or anything

what mods on the car?

And it sounds like you blew a seal. Get ready to part it out

or i mean part it out... or rebuild it for 3k..

that would be amazing
i found out what the problem is
i blew the apex seals of the rear rotor
i talked to the guys at rx-7 specialtys and they told me that to fix it it would be around 1800 that i should go with a rebuild with new ports and some other stuff around 3000 without the car just with the engine block
what do you suggest?
