CT Hello!!!

Hi everyone! I am new to rotaries and got my first car, a 1991 N/A RX-7 last October. So far I love it, but I need to be involved in the community more, so I think this is an excellent place to start. there are a lot of confusing things about this car, not just rotary specific, but also stuff like fast idle cams and thermowaxes. I have not modded it myself yet so all aftermarket stuff is from the previous owner. Someday I hope to REW swap it(I have seen mixed opinions on this forum about that but it is something I wish to do) and subsequently turbo it to 350whp. Again, I know nothing so I bet everyone here has helpful advice.

Thank you! I know a few bits and pieces of the history of the RX-7, but there is a lot that I do not know. I know random stuff like some reasons behind some design compromises(air pump for better emissions) or that Mazda won Le Mans in 1991 with the 787B running a 4-rotor. Just scattered knowledge so the history is also something I would like to learn more about. As for my specific car, all I know is that she used to reside in Detroit. So far the previous owner installed a racing beat exhaust, a spoiler, and an aftermarket air filter(I wonder if the MAF negates this flow increase)

I was curious about the history of your particular car. I always enjoy a great back story and hearing about where the car has been if it's known.
