Yes I have but it’s only stayed on a couple of minutes and now I’m trying to hook the carburetor back up but I’m not sure where All the hoses go

Welcome to the forum! I would love to see pictures of your RX-7!

If the carb is off from the mechanic messing with it, its lilely that he was gping to rebuild it. The carburetor rebuild kit is readily available and the carburetor is fairly straightforward to rebuild. We can help you with the whole process in the 1st Gen section. Whatever issues you're having, we can help you through them.

The mechanic already rebuilt it and it’s still broken he didn’t explain which part but I took it back because I’m getting a new carb on Monday and I not sure where the vacuum hoses, throttle cable, choke, and the other wires go and I would like some assistance.

Looks like the car has a lot of potential. Appears to be an 84 or 85 in Tender Blue Metallic. Not sure whatbsomeone was trying to do with the hood but a replacement hood can be found fairly easily. In regards to the carburetor, did you buy another Nikki carb or an aftermarket such as a Holley or Weber etc?

Yeah the previous owner did some stuff to it but nothing major and I did order a nikki carb I’m just not sure where all the hoses/electrical stuff go and that’s what I’m somewhat worried about since the carb gets here tomorrow and I need the car running soon, you were also right that the car is an 84

where did u order this nikki carb? betting when u get it, it looks nothing like what's on the rx7. had a 79 one time and the carb on it had nikki on the side, but looked nothing like the nikki that came on a rotary.

I got it from national carburetors I think and you’re right the back side of it is mostly different and I switched them out today and it turns on but it doesn’t idle and I’m not sure what can be causing the problem
