Hi all,
My little brother just bought an '86 N/A- white, minimal rust, and a new motor from Mazda Canada in 1995. All in all the car appears to be in decent shape, though there are a few issues. The clutch will need replacing soon, he's got an intermittent idiot light flicker, the power steering has been de-powered, and it won't hold idle when it's cold.
I'm guessing the idle issue could be a number of things, but my primary suspect is a vacuum leak. I don't know that much about rotaries, but my mechanical knowledge is generally pretty good. Any suggestions about what to tackle first?
It has 5 lug hubs, so I'm guessing its not a base model (which I found out AFTER I bought him a set of 4 lug winter rims).
