Greetings from Toronto, Canada
Hello,
I just picked up an '85 GSL with 16,000 km (less than 10,000 miles). It's my second RX7 (I had an '83 with a carbed 13B back in the 90s) and my third rotary, as I previously owned an '04 RX8.
This car will primarily be a preservation car, and I hope to eliminate any of the minor flaws (mostly cosmetic) that exist. Looking forward to drawing on the knowledge and experience of other FB owners.
Regards,
Patrick

Regardless, the car drives like new (at least, a new car by 1985 standards). I am currently working on replacing the original tires (they're pretty darned hard) on an alternate (OEM) set of rims. I have the tires, but I'm contemplating getting the alternate rims refinished. I have just got to keep the original tires on the original rims: that whole set up is just too pristine to disturb. I've had to do re-do the clutch hydraulics, which was pretty easy, and I'm going to flush the brake system as I am sure it hasn't been done in at least 14 years (and probably never). The fuel system was already attended to before purchase. I've put about 400 km on the car in the last 3 weeks, and although it drives beautifully, it's really more of a poser than a driver, just from the standpoint of trying to keep it as pristine as possible.
It's really interesting to revisit this car after 20 years and several other sports cars. I can honestly say that the engine and shifter are as good as anything today (hard to beat a rotary, and I would swear that the shifter is even better than the one in my RX8); the steering, however, is... "wretched" would be a polite way to describe it
Fortunately, I still have all of my '80s cassette tapes...
