Greetings and Salutations
Good day,
I've browsed this forum for a few months now and figured that now was as good a time as any to become a member. My name is Randall and I've been looking forward to being a rotary owner for some time now. Having graduated recently and with the start of my career around the corner, I feel that ownership is in sight. So, I would like to work my way into the rotary community and this forum seems like a good place to start. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you and for the coming experiences.

Thanks, Kent. I'm soaking up what I can about the strengths and weaknesses of each configuration. I'm considering 2nd and 3rd gens with a little bias toward the FD. I'll probably start kicking tires in a few months and continue on until i find the one.
What attracted you to the first gen?

You know, I've had my 1st gen since '95. I was finishing up high school at the time. The FDs were very expensive at the time (they were new). I still love the 1st gens. They are a classic/simple sports car. I still may get an FD some day, but the FB will stay.
Another bonus of the 1st gens, which you won't find in any spec, is that the 1st gen guys are probably the nicest and most mature section on this site. We don't have a bunch of ricers or drifters. The 1st gen guys always help each other out (giving away parts, driving long distances to help wrench (for free), etc.). There are a bunch of good FC and FD guys on here, but overall, the FB section is cleaner/nicer, IMO.

17 years... awesome. I understand. The FBs are cool little cars. As I understand it though, they compare pretty closely with the MX5, which was my first love. So, I'd select the roadster given a choice between the two. This is part of the reason I'm looking at the later generations. I'm looking for a bit more I suppose.
Equally awesome is the community you just described. But, I have accepted the existence of ricers and drifters (I was a ricer once, but I'm better now ^^). Everyone's got to start somewhere. I learned a lot about what does and doesn't work during that period.

Welcome, I live in Georgia as well so if you need help locating an FD, let me know. I must warn you though that FDs are kinda hard to find around here. I had to make a 5 hour drive to pick mine up.
