Got a 1986 RX-7 GXL
I just traded my Ninja 250R for a 1986 RX-7 GXL. (List price was $1500) It was pretty memorable. I live in Dallas and the RX-7 was in Tulsa. I rode all the way to Tulsa on my bike and drove the RX-7 back. It was a very fitting end to my motorcycle.
I will post pics soon. It is dark gray, and has some damage on the rear left, but it doesn't seem to have hurt the suspension. The damage was a low speed rear ending caused by someone not being able to stop on ice. Overall the car is about what I would expect for $1500. Mechanically, I inspected it and it runs just fine but it needs some work:
1) Windshield wipers need to be replaced
2) Tires need to be changed
3) Could use an alignment. 3 tires show even wear but the front right tire shows a greater amount of wear on the outside.
4)Brake fluid could use to be changed. The brakes work just fine as demonstrated by the sudden red light change in front of me tonight, but the feel is spongier than I would like
5)A/C needs to be recharged
There are many other little things throughout, but those are the immediate items. Items 1 and 2 need to be done in 4 weeks so I can get it inspected and have the title transferred.
Overall, I like it. It runs well enough that I can play with it, but there is enough work to be done to keep me interested.
