I had a 1st gen RX for about 10 yrs. Now I want one again. I never really liked the 2nd gen and do like the 3rd, but when I see a 1st it just feels right. So I'm shopping for one.

Although I live in AZ I will be using this car for work in S FL so I'm starting my search there.

I have a question for you experts. When I had my 1st gen (1981 GSL) I used to put an additive to the fuel. I'm wondering if that was why I had such good engine life and hope I can do the same now when I find one again.

Any thoughts on additives?

Personally I don't believe in fuel additives unless its premixing.

Any chance you are the Texas girl with the white s5's mother?

 

I did used to live in TX, but I don't know what a s5's is. Must be some other cool girl.

 

welcome cathy. i'm guessing by ur user name u also ride a bike? s5 is series 5, late 2nd gen, i believe 89-92. as for additives, i've never use them so i can't say anything good or bad. now those fuel injector cleaners might be good if u were running such engine.

 

My old girlfriend had a fd.. Made me jealous.

 

yeah i will be picking up another first gen here in a couple of weeks. an 84 gsl. Used to have an 84 gsl-se and a 93 touring. definitely miss my first gen!!

 

I do ride bikes. One of the things I always liked about my RX is that it was kind of like riding...with a roof.
