First Time Rotary Owner From Arkansas
Hello all. I am Zac from Arkansas and I just acquired my first rotary powered car, a 1985 FB. I left on a trip for work the day after getting it so I haven't had much time to mess with it, but am obsessed already. I joined the forum to start reading a lot to understand as much as I can about my new car. The previous owner had done quite a lot of work to the car, and I'm trying to put together a list of everything done and when so that I can know where I'm at and what may need attention soon. Here is one of the pictures he posted. The picture is deceiving because the car is a little rough as far as body work; the paint is all faded and chipping and the fenders have lots of dents.

It has a 13b from an 87 TII that has a mild streetport. It also has a BNR stage 1 turbo, microtech ecu, snow stage 1 water/meth injection kit, 3" exhaust, and some other stuff I'm forgetting.

He was asking $3000, but I traded a motorcycle for it that I had about $1600 in. Well, the car has lots of good parts, some others than I listed, but the car was overall a mess. It had the worst wiring mess I've ever seen and there were lots of bolts that I was able to remove by hand without a wrench. They weren't important bolts, just the driveshaft flange, 3rd member, and a few suspension bolts.... Overall I'm still happy with the trade and I've about got the 29294949 things fixed.

Yeah I drove it about 60 miles home and to work one day. I'm not really sure how it lasted those two days or how it was running at all. It's hard to explain how bad the wiring was. The reason for the loose bolt in the drivetrain was because the "custom" 3" driveshaft had the flange side welded on crooked and had never been balanced; it was unbalanceable anyways. The driveshaft shop cut the end off as trued it up and balanced it. J
There is no rust other than like you said, on some of the body where paint is missing.
