IL First Time Rotary Owner

My name is Giovanni. I live in Illinois and own a 1975 Mazda RX-3 station wagon. It has 61,xxx original miles and everything works from original radio to the air conditioning. Only issue is the front fenders are rusting and I can't find anywhere to buy replacements.

Well, it's called the RX-7 Club but we also have a strong contingent of members who are collectors of the rotary vehicles and parts that hit the street before 1978. Personally, I'd try to just repair the panels but it all depends on how much you trust your body repair skills. There's guys in our newspaper who advertise "fix-at-your-home" body repair, though I haven't ever given them a call. Must be doing good since they've had that ad in the newspaper for years.

Hit the Read threads, check out Sgt Fox's rules for New Members posting and enjoy the site, Giovanni!

Welcome aboard!

Well, I know it's been a long time since I posted this but... Here are some pics of the car as of right now. The car ran when I bought it but pretty rough. Rebuilt the carb and now it starts up on the first turn of the key! Runs awesome

Well, I was going to sell, then I realized that would be a lot harder than I thought. I've become very attached. Lol So now the plan is to rebuild the engine. It runs great but it burns oil when it runs for a while. I'm guessing that the seals are worn. I love the way this wagon looks. That's the look I'm going for.

Good news you did not decide to sell it, besides being attached, it would be hard for me to sell it because of the rarity of a clean RX3 Wagon.

That's a good reference for your wagon. Are you going for the whole theme, or just the rims and tires?

Mostly just for reference. I would like some retro meshies. Nothing major just 15"-16". Then lower it. I don't wanna do any major things to the engine.

Sounds like a good build plan to keep it simple. Keep us posted and post some photos.
