Finally made an account here, I've had my car a bit though.

Hey everyone! I'm John, and I have an '85 GS. Its real rough but I got big plans and a long time to execute said plans. I grew up with american muscle cars as my idols, and after losing the interest in pushrod v8s, I grew attached to the 80s style of sports cars, and after trying (and failing) to land a deal on an '86 300ZX turbo, I found a deal of a lifetime in the form of my current FB. I paid $500 for her, and she came with an anthill in the floor, but I expected a long term project. Coming with 150k miles on the stock 12a, she still turns over but doesn't start. The driver side window crank is broken, so the interior was destroyed by the Oregon rain. My buddy and I pulled it all out and started to take account of what needed what. I'm at the point where we're finally starting on the engine, and I'm looking forward to getting her back on the road. I'll probably be posting on the tech forums a lot, as my big, expensive, and unrealistic plan is too build the 12a into a 36a (6 rotor) and swap the rear axle for a Porsche 944 rear transaxle to keep the weight distributed and not have to chop the front. I want to do a widebody kit, and a custom suspension in the rear, as well as swap in an FC front subframe for an easier time with the front. My goal is a to make a rally car out of her, without tarnishing the beauty that is the FB. Oh an i am looking at mounting the radiator in the hatch area (cuz who needs rear visibility). Feel free to laugh at my $80k blunder I'm gonna try to undertake, but this also isn't a car I want to sell. I'm gonna run it with 2 rotors for a long time, and if I ever do the 6 rotors, it'll be all fresh aluminum parts rather than the irons. I hope to hear from y'all on the forums! (Will add photos at later times)
