TX Finally have one! '85 gsl-se

Finally have one! '85 gsl-se-1.jpgFinally have one! '85 gsl-se-2.jpgFinally have one! '85 gsl-se-3.jpgFinally have one! '85 gsl-se-4.jpgHello from Belton, Texas. After many years of dreaming of having a GSL-SE, I finally found one close enough to me, and that I could afford. It took 23 years in the Army and a few years now in law enforcement, plus "breaking the plates" of some of the kiddos (bye, bye, go and do adulting) but here it is. Found it just south of Oklahoma City from a 59 yo gentleman who owns a farm (nice place), whose father bought it brand new in '85 at the age of 60 yo. The car has 104000 miles and is basically stock, minus oil cooler and A/C converted to r134a (only a couple of new fittings and a hose from what I can tell. EVERYTHING WORKS! Anyways, I hope I can post the photos on this thread as I don't want to break any rules by doing multiple post on here. But I already have questions I will be posting in their respective sections. HELLO! and looking forward to be a decent contributor to this forum, as well as soak up some of the vast knowledge I have already read here.

PS: I have posted already in communication with another forum member about an oil cooler. Unfortunately, I could not do business with him (for now) due to family in PR and what is going on. I hope this did not break any rules. Thanks.

Thank you, sir. Unfortunately no records. The condition and the way it runs speak for very well if it's maintenance, though. I do have the original window sticker, at least. About the oil cooler, there gentleman put a cheap Chinese eBay one, cut the lines and spliced them with regular hose clamps. I plan to put this up later with photos, but he admitted one splice leaked recently. So that has to be fixed. Very afraid of sudden "oil pressure drop" while driving it. " No bueno!

The photo of the service records shows paperwork I have never seen. Paperwork like the radio installation instructions if that's what it is. I would love to see more pictures of that if you were able to post them.

I would find an original used GSL-SE oil cooler and lines, have it pressure tested and install it. No oil cooler will work as well as the original front mount oil cooler. That is too beautiful of a car to risk any engine damage on. The original, if you still have it, can be repaired at a machine shop. I had mine repaired and had the bungs welded. Hasn't leaked since and its been 9 years.

Here you go, sir. There are two sheets front and back with different numbers at the top right. I haven't really studied then too find any differences. Enjoy.
