I've been a lurker on here for the last few years. I finally pulled the trigger on getting an FD for myself thanks to ls1swap agreeing to part with his car. The 10 hour drive from South Carolina to Ohio was mostly uneventful, didn't pick up any new rock chips, did kill a ton of bugs. That said, as much as love how the 18x10 CCW wheels look on the car, I think I'm going to drop down to a 17" wheel and tire set-up. And will probably look into having the wastegate routed to the exhaust instead of its current atmospheric dump. The first couple of pics are from ls1swap prior to the sale. Last one is it tucked away in its new home.
Couple of minor updates. Picture below shows the new wheels. I swapped out the 18x10 CCW's with 285-35 tires for a set of 17x8.5 +45 Konig Heliograms with 245-40 tires. Had to sacrifice some handling capability for a little improved ride comfort. The more important update is I was finally able to pull myself away from work for a day to get the car in for a tune. I took the car to Eccentric Motorsports and couldn't be more pleased with the results.
Now that I've had the car for a few months, I'm finding the current rear compartment configuration irritating. The car currently has rear seats in it. However, it is missing the brackets that the seat back latches on to when it's in the upright position (along with a several other pieces for a full rear seat conversion). So whenever I have the seat back up, it inevitably flops down when I touch the brakes. Given that it's a LHD car, I'm assuming the pedestals that come welded to the rear shock towers on RHD cars are also missing. Would anyone be able to provide photos of those items? I'd like to see what might be involved to complete the conversion on my car before I rip it all out and start looking for rear bins (and all of the other necessary bits) to convert it back to US spec.
