I registered way back to the forum when I purchased a 2002 Süirit R Type B from Auction in Japan. Sadly that deal went horribly wrong and I had to threaten to sue to get my money back. I will never deal with Canadian importers again.
Anyways after giving up on my Spirit R dreams for a while I was finally able to buy my second dream car while still being overseas in Germany.
So here is my baby, a 2002 Spirit R Type A all stock with 56k Kilometers on it. Previous owner was from Sweden and the car was immaculately taken car off by the previous owner. First day coming home from the 14 hour drive from Sweden. Last gas fuel up before making it home. Seat shot provided by previous owner. The engine bay is so clean and all stock. Some parts have been replaced over the years but with original Mazda parts. Everything is all stock and I could t be happier. These gauges really do just look perfect. Before I bought the car I checked with GTR Registry to make sure it was authentic and matched records.
Congratulations on the purchase! I remember seeing this Type A for sale and thinking it was a great example - well done. I have been compiling a proper Spirit R Registry - the GTR Registry one just lists the grade and colour info from the Mazda EPC, whereas I have been collecting photos, auction sheets, and cataloguing the Spirit R build plate numbers (which do not correlate with build order/chassis number). I have the photos for yours saved from when it was advertised by the Swedish owner. I don't have the Japanese auction sheets etc, but these can be purchased from Japan with translations for a low price if you want that extra bit of history, although I note your car did come with a full Japanese service history.
I also remember you posting when you bought the Type B - from a fellow Spirit R Type B owner, what happened to it in the end? Feel free to PM me if you prefer.

I actually already have the Auction Sheet that the previous owner provided me. Also a Swedish magazine the car was a centerfold for when it was imported to Sweden in 2008 I believe. The original Mazda Spirit R Sales booklet, and a single page add from when the car was new. Again all thanks to the previous owner.
I would definitely be interested in the Registry. The only flaw this car has is that I do not have the original numbers matching book that came with the Spirit Rs. So I’d love to find the correct one and get these books sorted out. I have book 634 and my car is 534.

As Redbul said, they do come up periodically on Yahoo Auctions Japan. They also came with a keyring with a matching number engraved in the back. The chances of your book coming up are pretty slim especially when the car was exported in 2008. Original owners often held onto these books/keyrings as a souvenir. But I would keep a close eye on Yahoo in case it pops up - I always keep an eye out and will watch knowing which number belongs to you. I have reunited two keyrings/books with their owners before. I'm still looking for mine (number 1414)
