Eli from Florida

hello name is Eli I was previously on the forum with an 87 FC in my teenage years. I'm now 32 and my father left behind an 85 FB with headers, straight pipe, holley 600 or 660 not sure, odo has 164k but I know tranny was swapped with a better shifting one as my dad had a parts car that some parts were swapped. The car ran about 4 years ago but you would have to keep it under low rpms or else the car would start choking couldn't get past 60 mph in 5th. My dads previous mechanic told us the valves in the holley were to big for that carb and they needed to be replaced with smaller ones. I remember him taking it apart about that same time and bring it back and saying that it had the smaller valve now that the carb just needed adjusting but since than we have tried to start it a couple times but no success at starting. Can hear fuel pump but just cranks and cranks. where would I go from here if someone could point me in the right direction please the help would be greatly appreciated.
