MI Chapin from Detroit Metro MI

Hey guys, my name is Chapin and I recently moved from San Jose, CA to Detroit Metro, MI. In California, I took care of my mom's 1985 RX-7 GSL 12A, and it was a blast. We bought it with 195k miles about 7 years ago, but immediately put in a new 12A engine, which has run great since. It's been kind of a money pit over the years, carb rebuild, ball joints failed, power steering motor bad, exhaust system replaced, etc. but it's been a great learning experience for me. And now, because I have had it to learn on, I've rebuilt my motorcycle and do all my own work on the GSL and my new pride and joy, a 1995 FD with 26k miles

I just graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and I've been waiting years to buy myself my first car upon getting a full time job. I decided that first car was going to be an FD, so I started looking around pretty seriously earlier this year. I found about 5 across the country that I had set up to look at in person, but ended up buying one of the first ones that I saw in June. Like I said, its a 1995 RX-7, touring model with tan leather interior, Montego Blue exterior, and everything is absolutely bone stock, with 26k miles and impeccably kept. I cannot wait to start applying the reliability mods so she'll run another 20 years!

Welcome, hopefully your FD wont be a money pit like the GSL, but there seems to be an odd connection between rotary engined cars and spent money :P
Best of luck on your rotary adventure

The 85 wasn't a money pit. It was an old well travelled car that needed renewal. An Fd is a money pit. Welcome!
