Champions Yamaha Intro

Maybe I accidentally switched usernames or they reset post counts after some time but I am back to zero. My name is Robert Mealey, I am the owner of Champions Yamaha, and Champions-Motorsports.com (R.I.P). My friend Luis and I worked hard a little more then a year ago to get our online business going but the economy was just to tough for us. Our motorcycle dealerships are still here, thank God, but the website is just up as a place holder now with the hope that one day we will be able to get back at it. Maybe you will see our ad banner rotating on this site again one day. I am still a die hard RX-7 enthusiasts and owner.

Since we gave up Champions-motorsports I have sold both my RX-8, and 20B powered RX-7 wide body show car. I still have the donor car for the 20B which now houses the original built 13B from the show car. Now I am busy building this car back up again but this time to more of a showy race car. I am putting all my favorite parts from the last car back on this one but most everything is in the interest of weight, reliability or speed on a road racing course. If it is heavy or has no use on a track, like A/C, interior trim, whatever, it out.

Like many who have built six figure show cars before I found that while beautiful and gleaming with trick goodies the car ended up sitting under a cover in my garage 99% of the time. It only came out to get loaded into the truck to go to a show. It seemed horribly wasteful and although I loved the car it began to make me sad. It's not that it couldn't be driven I just didn't have the heart to take it out and possibly break it, scratch it, or stress crack all the molded body work. The car also attracted tremendous attention from everyone, police included. I never got a ticket in it, but I did get a police escort - if you know what I mean.

The car is sold to a friend of mine who's RX-7 collection is second to no one. I think my car made FD number 17 and his 3rd 20B. I know he took it to Pettit Racing where Cam worked through many of the little problems and made the car truly road worthy. So now friends have told me that have seen my old car out and the hammer has been down. That's got to be something to see with over 600HP (at low boost) and 630mms of rear traction that car was fast!
