NY Billy from Brooklyn, NY

Hello Fellow Enthusiasts,

It's been a while since I've returned to the forum, I'd like to say I'm still relatively new to RX7s so I'm writing this post as an introduction.

A little of my car history, I started off with my first car as a Black 1989 GXL RX7, owned it for a short while since it was my first manual car also. I have to admit, it was a horrible car in the snow, I had to sell it as soon as I could. I don't have much mechanical knowledge at the time, and I am still learning. One thing I knew was, it was not the car I was going to keep, I've always wanted a white car. Soon after I sold the FC, I bought a White 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS. Loved everything about it, it was an upgrade to the FC in every way. Owned it for a few years, got a stable job, got married, had a baby, and had to sell the Subaru due to space limitations in the driveway. I didn't think the time would come for me to own an FD this year, but I a beautiful Chaste White 1995 RX7 showed up in the classifieds and so I hopped on it. Flew to Illinois, test drove it, shipped it back, here I am with my dream car. Now, I still miss my Subaru, I know an FD is a completely different animal, I've been using it for weekend spirited cruising.

Since owning the FD, I've read and browsed through 500 threads in the 3rd Gen section, and hope to learn and contribute to the community as others have done. This is also my first turbo car so there will be many questions I will ask.

I'm not sure if I should be creating a build thread as I plan to keep the car the way it is with minor upgrades. I hope to keep this car as long as I can and preserve its beauty, as long as my wife doesn't hate me for this (y'all know what I mean).

Thanks for reading!

Welcome to the forums Billy! Glad to hear your story! I'd try and preserve your car as much as possible! They are getting very hard to find unmolested. Hope you keep it forever! FD's are awesome!
