Went back to the track today ...(1/8 mile)

With another forum member, billy. It was a good day - nice and sunny, and cold.

There were about 2 other RX-7s there today, none on the forum, or that I know of. One was a TII, modded, and the other was a base model, I believe, also modded.

My times were pretty good compared to the old times from the other time I went to the drag strip. My 6 ports were not working at the time, or so Steve Fooshee had diganosed(sp), that and my cat was clogged.

Since then, (https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ght=times+drag) I had to replace the cat, as it really clogged up. My times appear to have gotten better, I mean ALOT better. As well as my 60' times.

I had did something WAY different than I did when I went a few months ago (first time), which was actually rev the heck out of her, instead of keeping her around 2500 RPM. The first run was pretty good, I had it up to about 4500 rpm. The next few runs, I had it going to 5k-5500 rpm. Since the tires were wet from the bleach at the burnout box (No, I didn't do a burn out), she had gone and started to wheel hop on me - and did it for the next other runs I did. Because I am not used to the car doing wheel hops, I got kinda shakey and backed off a bit to calm her down - even though I took off when it turned green. I don't think the car likes the wall too much, as to why I backed off. Didn't know where she'd plan on heading.

Anyway here are my times. I am #237. Billy, is #236.

My first one, by my self. When I went and redline first and tried to get in second, it wouldn't budge, i thought I had it in, but it was in neutrual and it kinda went to 8k RPM, oops. Atleast I don't think that's harmful.

Billy and I running against one another. Though, we both believe it's not accurate, as his timing lights did not funuction properly.

Josh (red TII) and I running against one another.

WRX and I. I was surprised though, the WRX has been/is running slower than it should be running. The guy says he's dropping the clutch at 7k RPM..... Who knows.

I also took off bad this run (last run). I had it at 5500rpm, but I guess I hestitated when it turned green, which hurt me.

Red TII and I again...

Sorry about the poor quality of the pictures. I had took them with my digitial camera, and lighten it as best as I could.

I do believe my times went up alot better than my first run there.

My question is this, what is a stock N/a suppose to run in the 1/8 mile?

TPTs in the front and Ultra 800s in the back. I have stock rims....

Well, like I said... it was my second time out there, and I'm not very good with my launches - still learning. I don't really feel like breaking anything in the car, from lauching the wrong way.

But, hey, I did ALOT better than I did than the first time I went.

Von, on this forum ran the 1/8th a couple weeks back and he cut a 9.8 with intake, racepipe, e-fan, approx80lbs in weight reduction on Yokohamas

Is that a good time for an 89 GXL.....seemed good to me.

Hey rex you piece of ****. You forgot to mention that my clutch was horibly slipping because of my GlAZED flywheel. And I still beat a modded GST with streight pipe exaust and intake...When my clutch is better I should run mid 9s hopefully. I also have the headers on now and that gave me lots more power.
