after about 6 years I got myself another FB! Picked up a 1981 the other week. Glad to be back. picked it up due to a shoddy carb rebuild from the previous owner. already slapped a mikuni side draft on it and got it running!

Welcome back!! The car looks like an excellent project and will no doubt be a lot of fun! Do you know any of the car's history?

 

Thanks! from what i've found, it hadn't ran in about 15 years. Also seems to be I am the third owner, still titled with the original owners name with original plates! fortunately it seems to have been taken care of somewhat, as it has excellent compression. I put a mikuni side draft on since the PO did a bad Nikki rebuild, it now starts and idles great, needs some adjusting to drive. he also let it sit under a tree, so the sunroof has rust holes and the interior is filthy. I'll be starting a thread soon somewhat detailing my build.

a small vin search says a new engine was put in under warranty in 1998 or 1999!

 

Looks like it just needs some love.
