Back at it after 10 years STOCK 69k mile s4 T2

Back 10-15 years ago I had quite a few FC’s. A couple s4 turbo 2’s, a street potted s4 GXL, a midnight blue s5 with a turbo swap 60-1 haltech all that good stuff.

ive had my eye out for a close to stock turbo 2 for the last few years and the perfect one finally popped up so I jumped on it.

just picked up an 88 turbo 2. One-family owned with 68k original miles. Everything is untouched minus a racing beat cat-back and an oil cap.

just did a 800 mile road trip home and it ran like a dream. Needs some minor attention to get the stereo working and things like that but very happy to have found it.

What an incredible car!!! I honestly wouldn't touch a thing other than basic maintenance and getting the original stereo working again! The car is absolutely stunning!

Thanks guys. Definitely plan on keeping as original as possible, love the cat-back so that will certainly stay. going to go through and perform a big maintenance and then put get some new struts and replace all the bushings.

Thankfully the car spent most of its life in the south so it’s mostly rust-free.

Sounds like the perfect plan to me!! Too many of these cars have been destroyed over the years. Its nice to see an example as clean and well maintained as this one!

I agree 100% so few left in this condition, I will go through and replace the suspension and bushings but will keep it as close to stock as possible, I was happy to find out this one at what I felt was a bargain as well.

Maybes it’s not the best place to update,

but small wins, got the engine bay squared up, battery cover, oil fill cap, k and n filter. I was fortunate as a mouse had made a comfy home for himself but thankfully the filter stopped a huge problem.

after ducking around with radios I finally found one that worked and now have to replaces a couple blown speakers and power antenna unit.

have a new set of tokico blues and racing beat springs with everything new, have a full set of brakes and bushings ready to install.

absolutely loving this car.

Also picked up a set of vert wheels I’ll redo and plan on body-matching the mesh part with a polished lip. Will have the originals re-finished and keep naturally.

and ofcourse all the plastic shatters the second you look at it so replaced a couple vent-pieces and unfortunately had a minor crack in the radio surround.

You're doing a great job with the car! Where did you buy the Tokico Blue's? Would love to see a build thread on the car in the 2nd gen Builds section!

ill have to start one, good way to keep track of it all anyways.

the blues actually popped up for sale on here a few weeks ago, supranak was a great seller. I had purchased some kyb’s and returned them when those popped up. I actually had the same setup on my 86 gxl a hood 15 years ago.

Awesome! I'll keep an eye out for a set. Eventually I will install a set on my 10AE as the suspension on the car is a big soft due to age. I suspect yours was as well. If will definitely look forward to seeing a build thread! I start one with all of my 7's and add to it as I go. The car is gorgeous and it will be nice to see its progress.
