Doesn't seem like too much difficult of a project when I look at it closer lol. But will take it slow.

It cost my pocket, 500. Came with an extra complete S4 motor and some other parts.

Props to you for giving this car a second chance. I love to see people that do these kind of restorations, keeping these cars on the road.

Ahhh yes. I almost was gonna pass on it but then I thought, someone will just buy it and part it out. It will roam the road again!!!

I almost 100% positive that fire was caused by the fuel pulsation damper leaking fuel on the exhaust manifold. That is a common problem point of failure on these cars.

Could be, previous owner didn't find cause of it. Although it's an s5, not sure if it's too common as it's inside the rail.

I unfortunately did end up scrapping the car earlier this year due to no more space, was a real bummer as I felt I could get it on the road with a bit more time.

Well, will be picking up an 88 Turbo II this Saturday. Car was sitting for 9 years. Went to look at it, it turned on, no smoking, no leaks. Took for a small test drive down the road then realized its been sitting for that long, did not want to ruin anything down there. Owner said he replaced fuel pump, water pump, hoses, and cleaned out the fuel tank.

I will be towing it back home this Saturday. I plan on changing the oil, oil filter, plugs, air filter, flushing coolant and checking for compression. Interior is way rough but no biggie, no gauges or electrical components seem to work so far. I will be tracking those down.

Any ideas of what else should be done before driving it again. Car had 103k miles before it was left sitting.
