I had the opportunity to save a running rx7 from the crusher... i had no choice!






The car runs top notch, idles good and everything.

Car needed a Driveshaft to move, so i found one on CL locally, installed it, and today it moved on its own will up and down the street like it should. Just to see how it felt, got it for really cheap...




Next move was gonna be brake master cylinder, but that maybe be overshadowed by the 5spd conversion sooner than later. Instead of wasting money on a brake master cylinder..

My plan with this car is a fun, car that i can take out and beat on...after driving a big heavy low mazda boat for the past year and a half, im going crazy.

5spd conversion
Sunroof needs replacing
Suspension work
Wheels/Tires
Brakes need work
New Exhaust
Needs to be repainted, has spray paint job

but the ole 13b runs good which was my biggest worry....

 

That looks like a great project! Are you going to strip and polish the telephone dials?

 

wow congrats man! your cars looks practically like mine and i got mine fro super cheap too! Saved mine from part to crusher situation as well, gl on the project

 

i probrably wont mess with the dials since it only has 3 of them..lol but yea i got it for pennies! So i cant complain about anything! especially for a running car, with A/c. My plans are just to enjoy it, and make it do what its made to do!

 

Thats pretty cool man. I'm in the same boat right now, but mine doesn't run. By I have started to get parts left and right for it. Should be interesting when we get done.

 

Awesome find! any more info on it? miles? More interior pics ? You might also want swap your diff too. during the 5 speed swap. Yours should be a 3.90. Autos came with a 3.90. 5 speeds came with a 4.10. However you will notice in a 3.90 you can top your gears 1-4th a little higher than a 4.10 or 4.33.

 

Looks like a fun project. But it goes to show that some people should not be allowed to buy spray paint!

yes i completly agree! after i deal with this stripped manifold stud, im gonna start on the brakes, and start sanding the paint down, and drive it for a but, and see if i need anything else before i gget into the 5spd swap!


it has 180k on it.
