Hello everyone,
I'm John Williams, an old retired guy, playing with an autocross car. The car is a modified 1978 Triumph Spitfire powered by a 13B FC with a Porsche transaxle and Miata rear suspension. Thanks to Robb Meier for getting me through the joining process.

 

Welcome to the forum!! That car sounds like it has an incredible drivetrain!! I would love to see pictures of it!!

Thanks for the welcome. I didn't build the car. It was a dream of a fellow who died before it was finished and the next owner finished it with some help from a builder. I was told the little thing only weights 1,400 lbs. It's a ball to drive, more power than I can use with my experience and the limits of parking lot courses but my son and I managed to break it a couple of weeks ago. We're thinking an apex seal. It still runs but not well. We will pull the engine and check it out and either rebuild it or find some professional to do it (any recommendations are welcome). I'll try to post some pictures soon.
