Talking 89 mazda rx 7 gtu gal

Hey guys my name is Laura, I just recently bought a black 1989 mazda rx 7 gtu non turbo, unfortunately (for right now ha). It is definitely a project car but has a lot of life in him left. As much as I know from the owner before, who only had it for a month, it has a rebuilt motor with about 15k on it. I dont have cats on it and my exhaust is all messed up as well as my manifold. i could go on forever about whats wrong with it. hopefully i can learn more here and fix it up myself, you gotta start somewhere right?

welcome to the club. be prepared to get frustrated but have patience because it pays off. nothing ever goes as expected with a 20 year old car

haha you have no idea! i just watched it get pulled on a flat bed the other day because i think my clutch spring went out. my clutch pedal sticks to the floor and doesnt come back up. and if i touch it with my foot it gets sucked down to the floor and i hvae to literally pull it up from the floor. hopefully it is just the spring and i can find just a spring and not a whole kit. oh and the joy begins! haha

i dont have a hydraulic clutch, its cable and how do you know if your master or slave cylinder go out? i know where the master cylinder is and it looks fine to me.

if i were to have a leak, which seems like i do in this car, what should i look for or where..?
