'85 GSL-SE for a daily driver
Hello, my name is Bill and a while back I found a 1985 GSL-SE for sale and picked it up.
I intended for it to be a project car that I could keep in good shape and drive for fun, but through a series of events it has become my only car and thus a daily driver. It needs a bit of body work in general and the clearcoat is flaking off in quite a few places.
Currently it is not running though, as with the downturn in weather it decided to flood itself. Try as I might I haven't been able to get it to fire up. Info on getting 1st gens up and running again seems to be pretty sparse especially when it comes to the fuel injected variants. So naturally I turned to the internet, and rx7club was one of the sites I hadn't really checked in depth yet.

Thanks for the reply.
It's being pretty stubborn this time around. I've tried just about every variation of the de-flooding procedure I've read online including the one you mentioned. It's been parked for almost 2 weeks now while I've tried to get it to restart.
The last few tries it sounds like it wants to go and will run up to about 1k rpm but then it just dies. One plug is always drenched when I pull it out after it does that.

In the late 90's, I had a hidden fuel cut off switch attached to my 1987 13b. When it wouldn't start I'd flip the switch cutting off electricity to the fuel pump, then I would turn the ignition key. When the car started, I'd flip the switch on allowing electricity to flow to the fuel pump. The switch also provided extra protection from car thieves.
