CA 3rd Gen Rx7

Hi Ladies and Gents!

Thanks for reading, I'm new to the site and want to become an active member, I have owned all 3 gen. of Rx7, with the last one being the 94' FD R1 Pkg Montego blue. I usually do my own work on it simply because is hard to find "good" mechanics that actually know about the car and is passionate about it.
Either way I would like to seek advice from any of you, that I'm sure have some experience on the issues the car come up due to time, wear and tear, I've owned my FD for several years and now is in need of some TLC, So far I have rebuild and replaced several items, harness, solenoids, re wired all vacuum lines and bought some cosmetic items, the last things I need to do to it is a good paint job (Prob. will do it in TJ Mex. since I'm close and would be cheaper, and good quality, aside from this I need to get an Air pump for Smog and/or modify it properly so I won't have issues at a later date so far the clutch on it has started to make the dreaded "clicking" sound so I'm guessing it will soon pass to a better life! If any of you have any suggestions on what I could do or where to purchase one I would gladly take the advice!
I live in San Diego, CA so if any rotor heads are in the area I would like to get connected and seek more knowledge on the awesome RX lineup!
Thanks for reading and your time!

Joe

Looks like we're located in a same ish area! I'm in Vista near Camp Pendleton. I completely know what you mean about having trouble finding a good mechanic in this area for rotaries. Do you have any pictures of your FD?

I don't have pictures of my FD posted here, simply because it needs a paint job, I'll be having it done next month and then I'll post some, My RX is not my daily driver yet, and I do take it from time to time to the Escondido event "Cruise on Grand" on Grand st. every Friday, so far I do my own repairs unless I get stuck on something then I seek some advice.
I know of a RX mechanic in Spring Valley Jim Hrmoda, he's really good and is always steps up to advice on issues, specially if you have a 1st and 2nd gen, the other Mechanic is Louie he is in Santa Ana and he is the best when it comes to FD's. I'll be taking mine to him for a check up next Saturday, I want to have it ready for Sevenstock this year! How about you? What type of RX do you have? Have you done any modifications to it? Is it your daily driver? have you had any big time issues with it? And do you do your own repairs?
