1988 gtu

I bought the car a few years ago as a roller. Tinkered with it here and there but finally pushing to get it moving. The wankel is now an end table in my basement and it has been replaced with a SBF. The conversion has taken a while but I should be able to power it up soon. I have a number of questions around chassis/suspension/brakes and am looking for help. Cheers!

A few shots of the car. Overall it was a clean chassis when I bought it. There was some rust at the driver side lower radiator support. I had to cut it out for the Mishimoto rad anyway. It sounds like most of you are not interested in swaps, but I can walk you through the specs if you like. High level Ford 302 (306), TF heads, cam, girdled, blah blah blah. I converted it to run COil on Plug and distributorless to help clear the hood. I do not want to cut the hood... I am using MegaSquirt 3X for EMS. Working through the wiring now. I have the engine side wrapped up other than the Innovative MTX-L wideband. For now I am cobbling it together on the inside to get it to start. I want to see it run before I finalize the install. My goal is a well rounded car. Not specific to drag, auto-x, drift, etc... I want to drive it.... A lot...

Welcome! A V8 RX-7 is really not my cup of tea but the car you have looks clean and the engine looks great in there!

It would be cool to see a build thread on the car! The car has a ton of potential!

I'm not into V8's either but it really does look good in there!
