1988 10th Anniversary

Relatively new to the forums, I have an '88 10AE that's bone stock. Dad's had it since '88 and only has about 88k miles.

Congratulations. Most of us have molested examples that have been through many hands, and missing all the bespoke parts...

Pics?

I can take more on Saturday but here's one. I know now that the wheels are backwards thanks to Dave!

Here are two quick pictures of the drivers side interior, on 90.5k on the car after 30 years!

The crack across about 60% of the windshield is the only major imperfection in that car, although it’s been like this for over 23 years. Finding one is incredibly difficult. Fingers still crossed though!

Its really a shame about that crack. I will keep my eye out for a good 10AE windshield. They are unfortunately extremely hard to find.

10AE-RX7,

Is that the original gold tinted windscreen? I do wish you the best of luck tracking one down! The car looks very clean. Congratulations!

Cheers,
George

Gen2n3,

It is the original bronze windshield! I might have found a 10AE roller in Houston about 3 hours from me, so I'll check it out!

If you use the windshield from the car, maybe we can talk about the rest of it if you don't plan on rebuilding it for yourself.

10AE,

Thanks for the correction. I wish you the best of luck finding a suitable replacement windscreen. It also looks like you have an ally to lend a hand, where needed. I wish you the best of luck in your repairs and may the car bring many years of enjoyment!

Cheers,
George

That car really is in breathtaking condition!! When you swap the wheels to the correct position, make sure that the tires are not directional. If they are then the tires will need to be remounted accordingly. Are the seats in as good of condition as the rest of the car?

Unfortunately, the seats are cracked all over as you can probably guess. We are going to have them reupholstered soon though.
