1987 Mazda RX7 non Turbo
1987 Mazda RX7 non Turbo
I actually purchased this car for my 16 year old son in Nashville,TN for his 1st car.
He did work on it quite a bit, but, seems to have decided mechanics are not his thing..
I am trying to complete the car to sell or at least be driven by his mother as they are in need of a running car.
When we purchased the car, I had t towed to our house.
got everything working and the car running. It ran great !
However, it did need a clutch and tranny .. although driveable.
I had new exhaust pu on .. complete exhaust system and then took it to emission and it passed.
Since then, the kids put the clutch in and a new/rebuilt tranny.
I live in Los Angeles and had to come back to straighten all this out.
I drove the car and ir runs really good .. shifts really good .. good clutch
However, the kids disconnected some of the wiring when pulling the tranny and did not diagram it and did not re-hook the wiring up.
I have tried studying the manuals, dug through the electrical chapter with a magnifying glass.
Also tried finding a mechanic to do the wiring but can't seem to find anyone willing to work on it or with the knowledge.
I really need to sell the car or as I said, get it running for his mother.
If selling, hope to make sure someone gets a good deal and I don't take too much of a loss on the investment if possible. Hopefully works for all involved.
My son while I was away purchased another car and was totally ripped by the owner .. total loss, can't register or title the car which has now put a large strain on the family.
Any help with our RX7 will be very much appreciated.
I have it up on jack stands today, plan to work on it and have posted the wires that are not hooked up as now, non f the dash instruments work .. they all worked before ?
Also, now hard starting .. seems flooded and when I get it started , it blows white smoke (tons of it) but then clears up . but does blow a lot. As I said, it runs really good on the street when started. lots of power, smooth, not rough at all.
It is also over heating and I plan on putting in a new water pump today .. hear that squeky water pump going out noise. Already replace the thermostat.
Any help as soon as possible will be really appreciated.
