Keep in mind that autocross isn't generally done on a fixed track but usually in location with a large lot. The course marked out in cones and different every time.
The links I provided are so you contact your local organizations that are putting on the autocross events.
This is probably THE best way to work your way up to road course racing, first off you'll learn the necessary car control techniques and secondly you'll need to join some sort of group that runs those events anyway.
You can't just show up at someplace like Lime Rock, Summit Point, or VIR and expect to run on their road course.

Damn, nice car...take care of it and don't do anything stupid (have fun but do it on the track), take it slow and easy, my first rx7 is an 88GXL no engine (just put in a S5 TII in it), had it for about 8months now and In the the process of wiring the MS II V3.0 to the engine...long days and nights but definitely worth it...my girlfriend doesn't like it when I'm with my car, she says something about lack of time or something...haha
good luck with the fun project

I bought my GXL when I was sixteen, year later I did the TII swap. you have my dream car AND you have it one year ahead of me. At seventeen, I'm envious.
Nice work, hope to see you on the AutoX track sometime.
