I would say to put it under one of the seats, prolly go with driver, drivers seem to be fairly focused on driving and not messing with stuff in the car.

ummm if you want to do sh*t like that, buy an escalade. On a side note, would fit in the storage bins, you would need a place for the inverter as well.

xbox

If you have to do something like that you will want to mount it in the storage bin, surround it with foam. You probably want to have the battery mounted in the trunk if you plan to go with this setup. Mount the inverter next to the battery in the trunk. Run the wires for the video/audio through the tranny tunnel underneath the plastics. You will need a head unit that allows you to have an audio input to it. You will also need a screen (obviously). Thats pretty much it. There are other little details that you will need to figure out (such as a capacitor or some other backup power source) way to power it so that when you start your vehicle you will not lose pwer to the xbox.

That should give you a quick overview of what is needed.

why not buy parts to make your car faster, rather than spending 1k on a indash dvd player....which your going to watch by yourself?

The only reason I would ever install one of those is for GPS or my Haltech Engine software.

here ya go, take the 1k from the dvd player the 300ish for the xbox and go buy a powerFC...and do something worthy of the car.

DVD Setup

If you must have a screen of some sorts in your car go with a carputer setup and a 7" lilliput touch screen. Similar costs and it can work with some engine management hardware/software.

Maybe because im not tryin to go all out on my car with performance parts. Im goin for reliability which is mainly stock. Later i might put in some performance. I just got the car not to long ago and i am needing a new reciever so i just decided might as well go all out with an in dash since i have an all out kick *** car. u feel me?

It should fit pretty well in your entertainment center in your living room.

My guess is that you probably would not find this thread on a Ferrari or Porsche forum. Do not take this persoannly but some of the threads I see here on the forum are embarrassing.....

Maybe that's because these cars are NOT Ferraris or Porsches. It's just a hunch.

There is nothing wrong with spending money on your car that has no effect on performance. Not everybody requires 400rwhp to enjoy the car. I don't get my jollies off by being able to get to the speed limit in 4.6 seconds.

Just get a indash DVD player and be done with it. Most people I know that stick game systems in their cars hardly ever use it and end up taking it out. Plus I'm not too sure if the harddrive in the Xbox is designed to be banged around all of the time.

he would prob have to end up installing a labtop HD, Dont get my Wrong Ive spend quite a pretty penny on "non-performance" stuff but a Xbox is just a waste really, buying a $400+ console to play on some little 7 inch screen. Just seems stupid, but to each his own

Carputers are cool....

seriously not THAT expensive, just a matter of time and some effort. THugh anymore it's getting easier.

oh, and DON'T get a lilliput. Xenarcs are the good solid reliable gear. there's a reason lilliputs are discounted somuch all over the place.

While using those cars as an example, I doubt he was comparing the FD to either- he was more talking about the concerns people have on this forum.

Where ever you mount the 360 you have too remember that putting a computer on top of carpet is a really bad idea, the fans will suck in a lot of dust and the 360 will be garbage in no time. Everyone of my friends that have put their (insert new game system) on carpet has had problems with them reading the disc and overheating.

The best thing you could do with your 360 is put it on ebay the second you get it and sell if for enough to buy a PS3 next year. Thats what im doing with mine.
