WTF! how is this possible?[fixed antenna]

i got the answer to fixing my antenna and got a relay[had plenty from the formula just laying around] so i wired it this morning because i was finally not at work. the huge shocker comes here....my headunit[sony CDX-M620] is not grounded, this i understand since it is grounded through the stock mounting hardware and then through the screws that hold that mounting "box" in. i wanted my relay to sit a lil farther back in the hole under my head unit so i grounded to that hidden bolt under the little panel in the driverside of the center dash area[towards the driver from the gas pedal]. when grounded here it keeps the antenna up all day long so long as the car is in ACC. or ON.

now since its where i tested it i then grounded it to one of the mounting screws for the mounting "box" that holds the radio. and now it come up for tuner and goes down for cd or off.

how does that work arn't they both grounds??

Yes but but they could be hybrids therefore each requires it's own ground.
