WTB: A good car alarm with pager, glass sensor, and radar

Can you reccomend a good car alarm with pager (decent distance pager) motion sensor, glass break sensor, radar interior sensor.

No cheap junk made in Pakistan. Want something of good quality for good price (<$200 total).

Do not want a Remote Start feature Don't want, don't need.

Thank You!

Brad

For <$200 they're all going to be made in China, Malaysia and Taiwan... not that it's a problem, but Clifford's systems (at least used to be USA made) cost a fortune. Just about all of them have remote start anyway -- just dont connect it. And it almost seems like they're all basically the same w/slight variances in little features and appearance anyway.

If you want a specific reccomendation, I've had good luck with the Prestige APS-996. Prestige is a subsidary of the Audiovox corp. so finding replacement transmitters 3 yrs. from now shouldn't be a big problem, as with the total no-name brands. DEI's alarms are good for this reason as well, but I'm not familiar with their line anymore.

Didn't realize you asked for glass & radar too.

Try this place: http://www.autotoys.com

You can get glass & radar add-ons there. Prices are good, but if something's not in stock, they'll take forever.

I like the e-bay guy's "DOA" policy: 3 days from reception! Better get that thing in there quick!

www.asianwolf.com I have the lynx 2000 system from there. It has optional inputs for glass break sensors and proximity sensors which you can also purchase on the site.

Viper and Prestige make great alarms along with clifford. Also look into AutoPage, the 850 LCD works gret. Little steep, but very reliable, we do them at he store all the time with awesome results. As far as I know all 2 way pagers come with alarm - I might be wrong though - just dont hook it up... Good luck!

Ive installed one of those, and it only works correctly half the time, if that.

Well I'm sorry to hear that, I've had mine for 6 months and had no issues with it. Maybe it was the installer

I've looked @ that Lynx 2000 and it does have lots of features I want + it's modular and can add relays and modules, etc.. But I was wondering about the quality and performance of it.

I also contacted aisanwolf in Hollywood, asked them simple questions like where do I wire in the glass sensor, radar, and what wires do I not hook up because I don't want the remote start. they said not to buy the alarm from them because there will be problems and reccomended to buy from another shop

boy was i suprised. they have no idea of my electrical knowledge. I completely rewired the rx7 and redid the wiring in the charging system of repu, plus lots other alarms and stereos. oh well.

what do you guys think of the Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5 for $250.00 not including installation? Is it state-of-the-art?
http://www.clifford.com/matrix/feature/default.asp

I hear with Clifford it has to be profesionally installed otherwise warrenty is void. How much u think to have it installed pro? In a REPU not using remote start.

I'd imagine it's more than a few hundred $$$.

FYI, it's been a while since I've seen an alarm with dedicated radar and/or glass inputs. Typically, there's a 2 stage shock sensor input and you just tap the extra sensors to the same wires, or even the door pin switch wires. The alarm may have additional trigger inputs which are actually on the same electrical connection as the shock sensor or pin switches. Of course, it varies by manufacturor & model. YMMV, obviously.

If you want a lot of "channels" (control of external devices via a remote), try the Prestige APS-996. It's got like 7 of them. I was thinking of using it to toggle my fan-mod

Circuit city wants $599 for the Clifford Matrix 3.5 installed.

The Clifford Matrix 2.5x does NOT have remote start but still has remote paging, same pager as the 3.5x (perfect!!) and is $259.00 from ebay seller.
